The BackYard Farming Division was born from a simple passion for sustainable agriculture on a small plot in Gokwe, Zimbabwe. Our founder saw a need for healthy, naturally-raised indigenous chickens that were becoming hard to find.
We started with a small flock, focusing on the health and genetics of our birds. Our commitment to quality and humane practices quickly gained notice, and demand grew for our Zimbabwean poultry products.
Today, BackYard Farming has expanded its operations to include ducks, guinea fowl, and a variety of organic produce. While we've grown, our core mission remains the same: to empower rural communities and provide Zimbabwean families and businesses with fresh, trustworthy, and delicious food. Our Operational Journey in Zimbabwean Agriculture

It all begins in our state-of-the-art hatchery, where we ensure high fertility and hatch rates.

Chicks are moved to a warm, clean brooder for the critical first few weeks of life.

Our birds are moved to spacious, free-range environments to grow and thrive naturally.
4. Vaccination & Health
We follow a strict vaccination and biosecurity plan to guarantee a healthy flock.
5. Feeding
A carefully managed diet of starter, grower, and finisher feeds ensures optimal growth.
6. Harvest & Delivery
Birds are humanely harvested and products are delivered fresh to our customers.
